Playing Skillfully

Looking forward to playing for a banquet this Friday night that is near and dear to my heart. I was awake from 12:30-3:30a.m. thinking of all the chord changes and progressions (and the song is only 7 minutes long) and hoping I will play without a hitch. It does help to go through the mental movement of a song, just as a surgeon rehearses the surgery or a sculptor envisions the cut or a cook prepares their menu. Any artist who’s job is to perform in precision is held to a standard of supreme execution. Transparent moment: I both welcome the challenge and coil at the nature of live performance. My prayer is that I simply play skillfully and with heart and that the listeners are completely satisfied at the end of the evening. I will keep you posted!

  2. You really make it appear so easy with your presentation however I find this matter to be really one thing which I believe I’d never understand. It kind of feels too complicated and extremely vast for me. I’m having a look forward in your next post, I will try to get the cling of it!
